If the PC is picking pockets and finds nothing, the theft counter is increased by a too high value (even higher than if the PC finds something).

I'm just curious. What exactly did this affect? I don't really know what the theft counter is in the first place.

tbh. maybe it's cause it's harder to feel for sure the pocket is completely empty than just grabbing the first thing you can get a hold of and yoinking it :P

You may be right... but I found ancient runes (a comment by the Creator in the source code) that prove that the previous behaviour was not intended. ;)
