Royal Guardians Attack Without Provocation
Royal Guardians will attack upon being 'c'hatted with, even if the PC hasn't stolen anything
So, I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended feature, but I ran into Emil the Royal Guardian on D:2 with my Hurthling Mindcrafter. Emil was peaceful, and I didn't pick up any gold. I went up to him and talked to him and he yelled "Die scoundrel!" (or something similar) and started attacked.

IMO, royal guardians should either attack on sight or remain peaceful until you actually steal something. This behavior seems... odd.

Yes, this is a long-standing bug. The current trick is not to talk to the guardian, just take the gold without talking and he won't attack you, but of course this doesn't seem to make any sense...

Royal guardians now have been restored to a meaningful state. The originally intended glory. It's fun to see that this ancient piece of code (it's really old) probably never could have worked at the time it was written and that quite a few features that came afterwards are required to make it meaningful.

I BTW also increased their fighting power and the wealth they are guarding somewhat.

awesome - TBH i've been playing adom for 10+ years and never bothered with the vaults as the reward isn't really worth it.

Wealth definitely already increases with DL. Not sure about power.

Yes, their power increases with level. As does their wealth.
