Monsters vanish when lured upstairs
A specific position of the upper dungeon level could've made a monster vanish.

On a maze-like dungeon level monsters, instead of being lured upwards, dissappear. The standard "follows you" message shows up, but the lost brutes are nowhere to be seen. Attachment included - character still standing on a staircase.

Hypothesis: the game tried to generate the ogre on a wall tile. On normal levels, all tiles adjacent to stairs are free so the code probably doesn't check for wall tiles (yet), but on maze-like levels that's not the case.

This seems likely because the monster is sometimes able to follow upstairs.
