Autoexplore stopped: "You have nothing left to explore on this map"

I was exploring Terinyo with autoexplore command. When I had explored about half of the towns outdoor areas I suddenly got message "You have nothing left to explore on this map." I couldn't continue autoexploring before I had moved a bit. After that autoexplore worked just fine.

I've seen this. It happens when a NPC blocks your path. I don't know if you're seeing the same thing?

I just had a similar error in the dungeon. it said I had nothing left to explore, but there was still a short hallway leading up to a 3X13 room

I don't think there was any NPCs on sight at that moment. I'm not sure tho. Should've screenshot it. But at least I wasn't walking on NPC in adjacent square.

Happened to me again. This time it was because blue & was blocking my way. I think that might've been case at first time too. Didn't think about it last time cause I thought the & is water or fountain and wouldn't block my way.

I can confirm this - it seems that if you run into something that the game thinks you should be able to go through (like a person standing in a walkable tile, or one of those &s), you get the no more exploration message

I have seen this happen, too, but so far I am completely at a loss what causes it. More research welcome!
