Ubuntu 16.04 Gnome - Interface blinks, impossible to play
Command line version of ADOM senses some strange input

Hi,

I have 64bit Ubuntu 16.04 Gnome OS installed on Intel NUC Kit NUC6i5SYK.
Downloaded ASCII version of ADOM (for Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit, but also tried others) and ran from the gnome terminal (also tried xterm).
The game behaves as if it continuously senses some input. It redraws the screen very often. When I finally done with character generation and get to the world map, I continuously see the message "Unknown command '⯑', press '?' for help." (The ⯑ is actually in a hexagon, not in a diamond - I could'nt find a proper character and wasn't able to copy-paste it.).
It is possible to move the character and enter the caves and so on, but not possible to enter command like ":s" or ":m".

The issue doesn't appear if I a login to a RaspberryPi via ssh on my Ubuntu machine and start adom there.

Same issue here. Mint using both Mate and Cinnamon, different terminals. Don't think this will be fixed as the free version is no longer developed. Which is too bad, I much prefer it over the current Steam version (which I also have).
