illegible text in steam version

For the Steam version on Linux with Ubuntu, Arch, and Manjaro there is a bug where text is almost impossible to see. Occasionally it flickers to legibility, but more often than not there is always something important that is nearly invisible. The screenshots I've added are not comprehensive, as since the illegible text is not consistent there are instances I can't capture every time.

Somewhat unrelated, but in the event that I can painstakingly get the free version working on Ubuntu these same bugs are also present, however the version of ADOM hosted in the AUR does not seem to have these issues. Unfortunately my brain will explode if I go through the effort of installing outdated libSDL2* stuff again, as with every update these are changed into versions which do not allow ADOM to run.

Please let me know what other information I can provide.

YASD

I can confirm this bug (see the attached screenshot). The menus are nearly unreadable. Here's my setup:

  • Ubuntu 18.04
  • Radeon RX 550

There is also a discussion at steam about this topic: Can't read the text in most of the menus
