Situations come up where the distance for a ranged attack - spell or weapon - is farther than what's viewable. Screen can be scrolled to see the PC and the target, but on firing the view snaps back to center on the PC putting the target out of the view for the hit or miss. If a toggle for the autocenter was available PC and targe could stay in view.
