Drakelings are a cool race, so it would be nice to have them show up outside of shops and for them to show off their unique powers. The volcano would be a fitting area for them; warm, but with some areas to cool off and avoid overheating. It would also mesh with the lore that drakelings were in hibernation until recently - waking the volcanoes could have revived some additional ancient drakelings.
Suggestions for general abilities:
- High speed (150-200) to reflect the warm area in which they show up
- Dealing cold damage to them slows them for a few turns
- Fire immunity to allow them to navigate magma
- A special, powerful acid spit attack (or just acid breath, if that is too difficult to code)
- Fairly high magic resistance (50) to simulate their Alertness and high speed
- Scurgari missile attacks
Suggestions for specific monsters:
Empress
A unique monster carrying the heart of Ancardia. Has the ability to summon greater fire elementals, and to create magma under the PC (if not too difficult to code).
Spelleater
A monster designed to be a greater threat to spellcasters. Has higher magic resistance, immunity to all elements, and gains speed from PC spellcasting (similar to Andor).
Knight
A monster with higher DV and PV, and the ability to disarm.
Dragontamer
A monster with the ability to summon ancient red dragons one at a time (similar to greater daemon).
Archer
A monster with extremely powerful (titan level) scurgari missile attacks.
Wizard
A monster that casts confusion and energy blast.
Thespian
A monster with doppelganger-style confusion. (A joke based on
4432's reference to "other imitators".)
