When you eat a cursed apple, you are told you've found a worm in the apple. I suggest to have a second, alternative message that would appear with, say, 20% probability when eating a cursed apple:
"You find half a worm in this apple."

This is based on an old joke: What's worse than finding a worm in the apple? Finding half a worm.
