When initiating the game as a chaos knight, the game has some differences that would place it in a different time continuum or at least stage in history. The center of it is that the chaos gate is closed instead of open and your mission, should you accept it, is to open it. Perhaps as a complementary factor the game generates more lawful npcs and fewer chaotic ones.
