I don't think the immunity is fixed. I remember in older versions save-scumming to get fire immunity. May have been changed as of 1.2, though.

FINALLY beat the game. It's a normal win, but a win is still a win.

M, the Grey Elven Wizard, magic-missiled many things to death and destroyed the means of opening the chaos gate.

Killed the Archmage. Melee'd most of the monsters, corrupting ones got wand of fireball'ed. Had to lure the archmage out of the temple area so I could acid-ball him to death. I also got 2 levels out...

It also helps train literacy, as those scrolls don't disappear when read in the SMC.

I try to enter the SMC at level 1, or really any low level, then come back later. Preferably with teleport.
