Because of auto-curse?
I love the name of one of the MAngband vaults that could fit here... Zoo of Concentrated Death ;)
Fixing exploits isn't making the game harder... it's making the game better.
Well there's always PWMAngband if you like roguelike MMOs (and it's free). ;)
I didn't try chaos knights enough yet, but is it possible to do an ultra ending with them? Or some prerequisite is impossible to obtain?
First version played: 0.8.4 (it was still Ancient Dungeons of Mystery at that time!)
First PC: no idea, probably dwarf paladin because I played that a lot in the beginnings, before switching to...
Oh my... Thomas would have received a billion bucks if he did that before the funding campaign started :D :D
I clearly remember one of my games where my only blessed fireproof blanket got destroyed two steps into the ToEF. I guess you need not only game "luck", but general luck too...
Feature, not bug. Ancardia has a polytheist system, and though you become closer to your god by reading the appropriate tract, you also piss off the other gods.
By the way... seeing how big the release will be, it should have a better name than ADOM 1.2.0 no?
Of course the city should have a Red Rooster Inn! :)
But maybe it would be another illusion ;)
I'm supporting this idea. There are many NPCs/locations mentioned in ADOM that are merely hints or flavor text that could be expanded. With the $90k donation mark, we're gonna get the volcano and...
So I guess it's time for us to go thinking about statues, monsters, items, artifacts and quests now...
I'm back from my 3-week holidays and I'm totally amazed about how well the campaign went. The $55000 stretch goal is really going to help ADOM getting more players (and donators).
I'd like a really powerful dragon race, with a lot of debilitating abilities:
- baby green dragon: breathes poison gas
- green dragon: breathes poison and petrification gas
- ancient green dragon:...
This is awesome!
By the way, the music sounds stangely familiar...
Another good reason to go pledge for ADOM 1.2 revival, because this will make graphic lovers happy...
I've been playing ADOM for over 15 years, and still 9 out of 10 characters I start die before seeing level 10. To put it in one word... the early game in ADOM is *hard*. So don't dispair...
While the funding campaign was going strong the first couple weeks, the pledges brutally stopped the past few days. Seems that the roguelike community has been exhausted...
This is really a good...
NotEye 5.2 fixes the Isometric view: now you actually press '6' to go east and so on...
But still can't play with it due to the wrong key mapping :(
"You constantly emit a putrid gas."
Chance to poison other beings in a certain radius (hostile or not...)
"You gained the Midas Touch."
Everything you pick up (except key items/artifacts) turns...
I've always played the DOS version on Windows and never got any crash except upon entering the Casino level (that's why you make backups). However, I just found out after downloading the old...
Crowdfunding started today... and I'm impressed. Already more than $2000 collected in less than a day. At this rate, the campaign will be succesful.
By the way: pledge $50k (the "demigod" reward),...
Ok let's face it... How many people are playing ADOM this days? And how many are willing to pay a hundred bucks to have bugfixes and a few extra features? The response is easy: the core fans. Now...
A bit of thread revival...
I know Thomas coded ADOM with PDCurses, so I plugged a GCU port for my Angband variant using PDCurses to try the Necklace of the Eye frontend on this RL. It's quite easy...
With the "roguelike" system of ADOM II, meeting a bug like an endless loop means losing the character since the savefile is erased as soon as you restart your game. Until the game is somewhat...
