Thread: Scroll of Increase Melee Foo Dilemma

Default Scroll of Increase Melee Foo Dilemma

Not a horrible dilemma, but it's given me some pause. I'm playing a missile-only character... trying to think what to do with these. Sell them for the money? Use them to enchant up weapons for sale, for the money? Blank them for scroll writing? Dip them in a Potion of Exchange? Enchant some spears up to above-average even though that'll be a really small pile? Enchant some below-average spears up to normal so they'll stack with the Big Pile of Spears that is already too big?

Maybe the answer is for them to help make the small piles of above-average spears into usefully large piles.

    Any thoughts?

Heh. Anything you do will be better than what I usually do: I say "well, I could use it, but maybe it will be wasting it, because I may get a better weapon later and want to use it on that one". So I save it. Of course, later I never remember to use them, so they become RNG fodder for the Rift fall or something similar.

For your purposes, the "create stacking spear stacks" project sounds most sensible, unless you need the small change.

Would wielding a bow or crowsbow in the melee slot increase it?

If not, I say the "Make spears/axes/daggers stack" plan is best.

I wonder whether it would buff a boomerang wielded in hand.

If it would, it would probably buff the boomerang's melee stats. I think.

I very nearly always use the dam things as soon as I get them. I always figure Ill get more later and it might actually help keep me alive long enough to get to that better weapon.

In the middle to late game, I save them for my first weapon of penetration or phase dagger.

In the very early game, I'll use them on whatever my best weapon is to survive.

Define fairly earlY? I've had a level 24 human bard. He didn't die but the computer he was on did...
