I had one too. Surprisingly it survived ~5-6 hits and then found it's end. I hope it went to boomerangs' heaven for being a martyr...

Just today I had an interesting exp. with a suffixed boomerang.
I equipped it, chucked it at a blink dog, then the dog TP'd away.
Reading the message buffer, I noticed the message "is surrounded
by a globe of darkness". The boomerang was the 'of darkness'
kind, and I had to deal with an erratically TP'ing BD for about
20 turns before he settled down again.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."

I hope I'll get a boomerang of slaying one day. That's something that should help you win (or at least get wherever it will burn up from a red worm's breath or something)

Thanks for the advice from everyone. Unfortunately, a red worm breathed on me and burned up the boomerang while I was training it, so I guess I'll play the rest of the game conventionally.

... The two of you must be playing a practical joke on the rest of the forum
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

It really does look that way, but I think zasvid must have psychic powers or something; I wrote my post before I even read his. I'd have taken a screenshot, but I had no idea that someone here would be so eerily correct on how my poor equipment would meet its demise.

This is the basic law of roguelikes, isn't it? The small kobold always gets the last blow, and red worm's are ADOM's small kobold of item destruction.

I always thougt exploisve traps on doors were the ultimate item destroyer, at least for my part.
