My hit pints were at max. I'm well aware of how toughness boost work in most game systems. I've only being laying RPG's off and on since I got out of the army in 1972. Had it been the normal sort of thing I wouldn't have posted about it. I went from 143 to -3 when the potion waned the first time...

What if you were a level 10 barbarian, raged to gain +4 Con which totals +20 hp. You end your rage with only 8 hp, would you not have -12 hp, a.k.a. dead as a doornail?
I said it before, and I'll say it again. If I knew scripture like you, I'd prolly be an athiest too.. -gut

    Not in the real D&D.
First, the rage only gives temporary hit points. When these fades, you lose TEMPORARY hit points. you can't die of that, you simply faint.
Haven't won with : Druid, Priest, Elementalist, Weaponsmith, Ranger, Merchants, farmers, Necromancer,Thief
Currently trying : Entertaining girlfriend. Very, Very, VERY hard.

    Just a silly online game

I haven't played a good D&D game since... 2005-ish? And then I was a rogue and my DM liked giving me bad situtations (or I did stupid things like "oh, it's ok to go alone into this sanctum at the end of the hall while the barbarian and monk are carrying the cleric out of the temple because he got knocked out" and kind of forced his hand) so I learned the value of strong arming the cleric into getting the Brew Potion feat and making me assloads of cure potions (to either give to the unconscious cleric to wake his ass up or to consume myself when I fucked up for the fifteenth time that session). Good times.

Psy_wombats is right, check what the death message was in the high-scores.

DnD notwithstanding, HOW did it take off so many hitpoints?

This is either some sort of bug, or some unknown source had been hurting you without you realizing it and the HP lost due to the potion waning off were just the nail in the coffin... I think it's impossible to glean more from the facts
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
