Thread: Learning Healing twice?

  1. #1

    Default Learning Healing twice?

Is this possible in any way? I already did the Yriggs quest and got the Healing skill, but it's leveling up very slowly (+1d3 or +1 per skillup). Normally I would just bite the bullet, but when I talk to Jharod again he asks if I want to [l]earn or be [h]ealed. When I say learn, he says I have to exert mercy again.

Yes, if you manage to exert mercy (e.g. healing a pet) Jharod will increase your Healing skill modifier.

I don't have any pets... any other way? Or should I grab some bones and run around looking for a dog?

Heal any monster that you didn't injure yourself.
Haven't won with : Druid, Priest, Elementalist, Weaponsmith, Ranger, Merchants, farmers, Necromancer,Thief

Any neutral monster will work, doesn't have to be a pet I don't think. I also don't think it even has to be within Jharod's sight.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

I'm sure it doesn't have to be. I'm also sure that you can forget it, if you hurt that mosnter, and look to another. Using arrow/spear traps is superb.
But can you heal somebody? i assume you ain't a healer, so do you have a healing spell at the ready?

    Healing spell is hard part.

Alarm trap (wand of trap creation) will make creatures fight each other, hostile or no.

When your skill reaches 100 you will receive something very useful instead. As many times as you would like, too.

Another rather easy solution would be to get hurt. This will train the Healing skill. Bothering with Jharod is likely only worth it for the sweet reward you get if you exert mercy at 100 Healing.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
