Herbs don't increase stats straight away. They train the stats and the game checks from time to time if stat increases or decreases (mainly when you level up).

Morgia works even when cursed.

Hmm. With cup star sign that is not a very high level for such a great number of turns and time passed. And you mention killing things like the casino shopkeeper. And you have 7LB. Hmm. Smells like serious scumming to me.

Not save scumming, I believe you if you say so, but other scumming. Like gremlin bong. Or excessive stairhopping. Or abusing the walk-against-the-wall-to-heal bug. Or kickrobbing. Or something. Something not-very-xp-worthy took all that time. Fletchery, sure, but somehow you must've gotten your hands on those sets. I personally have a pretty long list of demands a "truly non-scummy" playstyle should fulfill, but then: it's my personal list, not yours.

Clearly you've also been lucky, but that just means you've got it coming eventually.

Seriously, I have played this game for over 10 years, and I still kill well more than half of my characters. Obviously sometimes the reason is I'm not concentrating enough or don't care any more. And I restrict myself in various ways and take risks to avoid boredom. BUT STILL. You must play like those bots that can beat Nethack: so carefully you're in danger of falling asleep... Are you having fun yet? Do you see yourself playing ADOM for 10 years?

I'm always on the lookout for devious ways to do things in game ... such as digging out walls in shops, sacrificing creatures I have no chance of killing, using wands of door creation to stop the NPC creations in the cave below the Dwarf town ect ...
I very much doubt any of that is even close to cheating as it is all done via roleplay gameplay not hacks or glitch abusing.

I stole all the fletchery sets that were in the Casino by killing the shopkeeper... I had actually ran out nearly all my arrows except 20 something cursed slaying arrows ... that's why my sword skill is up a but more than I normally would have it.

Also, I got invisibility very early on and could walk right passed NPC's that I didn't want to fight ... I don't like the idea of getting killed so I did up my archery on weaker characters before daring to take on stronger characters :s

Playing for 10 years? :O I doubt I would... I've been on this character for quite a while and often forget about it for a up to a week at a time... it's frustrating cause then I pick it back up and have no idea where I am or what I'm doing and usually wander around trying to remember what I had to do next or what quest I was doing and sometimes end up traveling all the way down back through the levels forgetting that I was meant to go pick up something from somewhere and end up having a lot of wasted time.... that's why I used a pool.... to wish for more Scrolls of Chaos resistance otherwise I'll run out.

Wow I can't believe that this is only your second character ever. I'm been playing on and off for 4 years and I just have started making some progress in my games. I think it's mainly because I'm so damn impatience but still. Second character ever. Impressive.

Not that you in all your spoilerness would not know, but corruption is twice as fast after day 90. Save your corruption removal for the big three-stiff muscles,mana battery, poison hands.

I just got to level 50 .... yaaaaaayyyy!!!! ... funnily, the Earth Temple is eeaasy to do .. arrows of construct slaying killed the Ancient Stone Beast in 3 hits!
The Air Temple was annoying... a lost a lot of my arrows of Slaying that I made and lost one of my good bows one the way back out.

I now have 108 DV when set on Coward which is great cause I've been aiming for 100 but I still have a few marks to get my Bows to Grand Mastery which is another aim.

Now, fingers crossed and hope I don't die in in the Mana Temple, :S

Hey, I'm fairly new to Adom and have just found this site.
I'm playing my second character ... my first one died of poisoning.

I have read just about every guide and walkthrough before making my seconds character... I wanted to know what I had ahead of me in a game that made my first character starve to death so quickly
