Default dagger of corruption - safe to wield?

Just found a mithril dagger of corruption in VD and would like to know if it's safe to use. The wikia article on weapon suffixes state it should not be confused with the Moon Sickle, but that doesn't specifically say "safe to use, you won't get corrupted wielding it/carrying it, etc." Can someone clarify for me please?

    Thanks much!

with that weapon, any monster you hit might tur into a writhing mass of primal chaos, or mutant. Difficult to kill guys if you're having that as a petty weapon.

I think that's quite difficult. Once I found a cat in the arena and I had no means of teleport or potions of exchange. But I had a dagger of corruption, so I had the crazy idea of trying to turn it into a WMoPC and then kill the WMoPC rather than killing the cat. I somehow broke the dagger so it would do less damage (maybe with a scroll of repair or it was already broken, I don't remember) and started attacking the cat for pitiful damage. I hit the pesky bugger lots of times, I think I even healed it a couple of times, but no dice, it wouldn't turn into a WMoPC. At the end I killed the hateful creature.

The good thing about a dagger of corruption is that seeing "The *foo* is corrupted!" after attacks is pretty cool. We roleplayers like that sort of thing, even if its practical effect is so tiny.

IIRC, cats are horribly hard to corrupt.

Some monsters are harder to corrupt than others? I didn't know that. What factors does that depend on?

The bigger the chance you would ever want to corrupt it, the harder it is.

    Chaos kitty reigns supreme. f

I wouldn't suspect a weapon that corrupts the opponent would
do so at a terribly fast rate, so I feel that you could use the dagger
for a while, but a mithril dagger with no real helpful bonuses probably
    won't last very long.f

IIRC, if the dagger was a "corrupting dagger", then it would be unsafe to use, but one "of corruption" is perfectly fine.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Thanks for the input all. At present, I'm a lv 7 Candle-born GE Archer, so I'll play it safe for now. I also found a heavy mace that has a better dice roll than the dagger, I just don't like the weight of it, but we'll see how it does till I find something else more suitable.

Monster corruption tolerance is a linear function of corpse weight.
