2. I'm not jealous! However at the time it felt like you were saying "playing on a HD from my couch" and "ah, look at me, I'm having it easy". Might not be what you've meant, but I've seen enough showoffs to be weary of them for a long while. I'd say that I feel touchy about this kind of things because of past experiences.

3. I hope that those lines by Unforgiven and Theym were jokes, because otherwise I would once more regret helping forum members as I regretted with Berserker. Which would be bad, as I'd be yet a step or two closer to giving up on the forums for another few months or so. And I only wanted to help... Apparently no good deed goes unpunished.

Goddammit I want to play ADOM in full HD on my couch.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I want to own a couch.

(The closest I get to full HD ADOM is that my laptop can play blu-rays. It also has a maximum resolution of 1200x800. Some things weren't too well thought out with the damn thing.)

Actually my scanner scans all archives (and files in them) automatically when I download.

ADOM is not compatible with 64 bit extensions. You will need to compile SAGE in 32-bit compatibility mode (try CFLAGS=-m32 if using gcc).

But on the topic of helping forum enthusiasts, then feeling
strange about it:

I once coached a guy on irc ALL the way through an entire
game of ADOM. We played in several sessions, and he
never played the PC unless I was online to help. Drake
monk that ultimately died on D:50 to corruption problems.
By far, the furthest he had ever gotten in the game.

He wasn't playing on the server, but locally, so I couldn't
even see what he was doing. I had him killing Waldenbrooke
while doomed, saccing his own crowning arts, and all kinds
of fun stuff due to a combination of bad memory and no
vision of game. In the end though, he was killing ancient
karmic wyrms, and even the casino shop keeper with ease.
Was all very fun, though took a lot of effort. The kicker? Turns
out it was the guy who cussed me on the 'smoke weed every
day' thread just a few weeks previously. That'll teach me to
pay more attention to names I guess
