Default Now I remember why I stopped playing ADOM...

It had been a couple of months since i last played ADOM. Tried a few thieves and failed until the last one managed to hit it off..

Hurthling with FP at 100 and lots of quickling queens meant a very nice speed for this little fella. Ironfist as surge of power and pilfered robes of resistance from casino. + Hammerhead as precrown.

Did demented rat, gaab bay (giant boar as 1st wild monster and farmer in HMV dropped corpse...easy peasy), killed momma dragon with just penetrating dagger and careful tactics, 40 Toughness was really nice to have at that point.

Killed cat lord with webs and arrows and a greater undead vault appeared on D:40. Cleared the outside, Inside were far slayer, purifier and ring of immunity.

Killed 6 lich kings with undead slaying ammo, one of them carried far slayer... proceeded to kill a couple more of lich kings, the level was filled with summoned monsters but i was invisible from a fine cloak.

The first lich emperor that appeared death rayed me... i forgot about the need for this particular resistance. Very unforgiving...yes... i was rusty and forgot the essential...

this wasnt the time of the thief...

    oh well...

yeah they are the most nasty mobs if you ask me, once bump on great valt of them too and every single lich started to summon, there was like thousands creatures on level, bursted to laughter when i zapped wodm, i wonder how to kill them when they are already dead..

On my last win I decided to clear a greater undead vault for the first time just so I'd get a reason to post the win bragging I cleared that with a barb. After losing a lot of stats and using about 10 prayers, I decided that the helmet there propably isn't worth it, and neither is the fame

So IMO leave undead vaults alone if you're not a caster.

with my thief it was pretty doable... if i remembered to put a AoDRR on I could have taken them, the zillions of monsters + my guy with teleportation made it quite safe to do so if i continued being careful enough to remain far from the liches. There was even a couple of summoned molochs there that posed no threat to that guy.

Or perhaps a high-level archer with tons of ammo on his hands?
