4. Black Torc
5. Sword of Nonnak
6. Ancient Mummy Wrapping
If I don't get black torc I get the Axe of the Minotaur Emperor for him.

Ah well, trying to finish an ultra for the first time seems cool.
I was thinking RotHK's, after i've got that Eternal Guardian to poof..
"8. golden gladius, unless I really wanted tactics for some reason"
I thought tactics was good?
"6. Ancient Mummy Wrapping"
Don't you kind of need that, sort of?
"9. phial, as long as I have other disabling means"
Disabling? I have no idea what the phial can do besides shine...and shine....and shine....
"10.amulet of raw steel is a good possibility, though I'm not giving up my shield"
I've used the shield in the ToEF as a direct result of reading your Wizard LP walkthrough in your sig, but it is massively corrupting, over time. What else can you use it for?
PS. My apologies for the bad quoting, but i forgot the quote tags. It's been too long...
You can also feed him the Phial of Caladriel instead of the mummy wrapping, depending on what you use most.
Or get precrowned.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.
tactics is a nice thing, but I seldom bother with it. I can't
notice a difference in game play with or without it, so...
AMW is a great art for a guy who likes to rush through, but if one
has access to more items, then it can usually be improved upon.
phial disables, um, humanoids and animals, I think
shield is massively corrupting, and is a pain to carry at all.
Come to think of it, after the ToEF's has fallen, I actually
might consider giving it up. It is great for the archmage
fight, but for an ultra-bound PC, Nurrgy shouldn't be a
problem anyway.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."
Well if you have death ray resist and see invis as intrinsic mummy wrapping not doing much for you. Since phial can be replaced by cursed invis potions very well it is not spectacular either. Feed both.
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
(after 15 I stopped counting...)
One fun other option would be to feed him the potion of literacy and later eat a dark sage.

Maybe if you get crowned with the AMW on, so you don't get the Cold immunity? But i would still consider keeping it..Maybe.
Didn't know that phial actually did anything to animals/humanoids.
Archmage fight is a pain without High DV/Acid spit/Acid Ball. But i don't think lugging around a shield that corrupts in a corrupting enviroment helps. Though, can you kick it around? Like, drop on floor, kick it to stairs, pick up, go down, rinse repeat and profit? It seems viable if a little button mashy and gay if someone picks it up.
thrown phial confuses
=cold is only useful against ogre magi and somewhat rare dragons/vortices
lugging the shield isn't so lugging after one is comfortable with turn efficiency.
normal play between df shortcut and mana temple is slow and heavily corrupting.
next time you are clearing that greater vault of giants on D:40, just notice your
turn counter. It is a long time in a heavily corrupting zone, in exchange for a
wee bit of xp and some mostly useless items. Quickly passing it all by while
carrying a corrupting shield isn't such a bad comparison.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."
Playing on a laptop with no numpad without overlay with a special "numpad" button doesn't exactly encourage using loads of diagonals, but i get by, a little. Though i guess the shield is a quick alterative to smithing and quick survival boosting against that Archmage. And throwing the phial does that? That doesn't exactly do much. Unless it's 100% and works on bosses.
