    Default The Ultimate Fighting Championship

    The arena challenge second eddition is officially open.
    This challenge shall be open until August the 1st. The rules are as follows:

    - Roll 3 PC's only, one from each class tier.
    - You may use each race only once.
    - You may re-roll a PC ONLY if the RNG throws you a river.
    - You may heal in between arena battles, but you must not leave the arena level.
    - You may only visit Terinyo (only for food) and the CoC.
    - You may kill no NPC's.
    - You must document your Gladius opponent, count your title defenses, and cause of death if applicable.
    - It is OK to use the naming bug/feature, as that is the only way to semi-level the boss fights.*
    (The suckers who draw Lin Hon Kay are still getting screwed.)
    - You may not win fights via teleportation, though teleporting within the arena is OK.
    - You may not chose birthsign.
    - You may not use the question system to pump stats. Sorry, but I think the answers are code-dived.
    - If you are a bard or necro, you MAY USE PETS/SLAVES. Sorry for the confusion.
    - You may use herbs, shops, or any PC building tactic you like, just don't pass these restrictions:
    - You must initiate your first arena battle within... 2000 turns. weaklings will be
    granted an extra 1000 turns
    , possibly a bit more if circumstance dictates.
    - You must initiate your first arena battle before reaching exp. level 10
    - You must initiate your first arena battle before day 10.

    - You must post a few brief lines, describing the PC's you have rolled. Example:
    Strong PC: Unicorn born drake priest. Starting book, darkness.
    Average PC: Tree born orc merchant. Starting specialty, potions.
    Weak PC: Wolf born troll farmer.

    * The naming bug/feature is when you use the 'n'ame command on spaces where
    you suspect an invisible monster (Lin-Hon-Kay) of being. The game will thus
    give away the position of the monster.

    It was a bit wrenching to figure out the tiers. I wanted to incorperate
    everyones rankings, but I still had to keep the tiers rather even. Nobody
    depreciated any class, but instead only ranked some higher. So I promoted
    merchant and mindcrafters. This means the 'strong' tier has 6 classes,
    'average' has 10, and 'weak' has 4. I also swapped elementalists and
    priests.

    Strong: ARCHER, ELEMENTALIST, WIZARD, BARBARIAN, DRUID, MINDCRAFTER
    Average: HEALER, ASSASSIN, PRIEST, MERCHANT, BEASTY, NECRO, RANGER, MONK, FIGHTER, PALADIN
    Weak: BARD, THIEF, FARMER, WEAPONSMITH
    "Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."

    fuck was promising


    Dragon burn hurthling wizard, acid bolt, magic missile
    got into arena arround turn 600,had some problems with oozes so started fights at level 9 while isolating lower part behind arena with doors, killed li hon kay at 3594
    after:

    22 delven priestess, got her but it cost me too much spell points
    23 wight-hit lv 11 here

    28 deleven princess-got her but she got another good chunk of spell knowledge and my last prayer

    So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

    Do we have to decide on R/C before creating, or can we check what the birthsign is and then pick something extra compatible?

    strong: Salamander born dwarf archer.
    average: wolf born troll ranger. Lousy stats at St:24 To:25
    weak: dragon born drakeling farmer. PV:0

    Yes. You can only not do what is forbidden. Well, within reason anyway.
    We didn't forbid turn bug, but common sense says no to stuff like that.



    Dwarf archer killed Ripclaw the troll for the Gladius.

    Drake farmer - Jeez, had to pray once to make it through the wilderness and still,
    if it hadn't been for the dog, I'd have died! Almost died on D:1 due to a trap taking
    me to 4 HP's. Couldn't even explore D:2, as I saw a viper. Found an orc tension
    room on S:3, went down to 12 HP's and was fleeing for the stairs when I got "The
    female orc throws a crude knife at you! You are critically wounded. You die... (more)
    From 12 to -16, and I couldn't stop laughing.

    Strong: Tree-born Human Archer --- Died to a stone block trap on D1


    Medium: Sword-born Orcish Paladin (Everburning torch with 12/9 DV/PV) --- Beat Sparkadius went on to fight Bandit,Ratling Duelist (Pain in my ass.. damaged my armor until it was useless) , Slow Shadow, Cave tiger, Dire wolf, Lightning Lizard, Spectre (Weakened me multiple times) , Hell hound, Lesser Daemon, Bugbear, Greater Rust monster (Destroyed almost all the rest of my armor including my [+0,+4] gauntlets), Giant Bat. Died to a minotaur due to sever lack in DV/PV after that rust monster.


    Weak: Sword-born Dwarfish Weaponsmith --- Had horrible DV/PV and no healing... Died to a Cave Bear in the arena

    Medium : Salamander born male Troll beasty (named grumpy) Which reached the arena and got his first fight

    Mindcrafters really do kick ass - I don't ever recall not being able to use mindcraft whilst confused, making them awesome doppleganer slayers. Nice work getting a DK on your kill list though.

    Hey, I lost all my chars before ~10 fight! Anyone dare beat my score?

    Really, wizzie with 12 Le, priest with Magic Map and a thief who was doing very good (I seriously believed he's gonna kick strong and average guys) got sandwiched next to a gibbering mouther, which proceeded to beat his sad face..
    I like my women like my ADOM loot - hunted as treasure and in extra quantity.
