Master mimic just showed up while I'm fighting a horde of wolves. Things got interesting after all...
EDIT: Master mimic died to archers being overpowered. But now there's a lightning vortex. Maybe I should run now?
EDIT2: Nah. Got a scroll of darkness just for the occasion. I really really want to get a log.
EDIT3: HOW MANY TREES MUST A WOODCHUCK KILL DO GET SOME LOGS HERE WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK

ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!
Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
Finally dead. Read for details.
This character, complete with his name - is a monument to Arengee's two-faced nature.

Got a 4 hour public transport journey ahead of me today, taking my lap top to churn through some characters![]()

(OhPlease, the gray elven wizard, was killed by a rock thrown by a wall beast.)

I use polemarms when laying adom.
Still not as bad as me. He didn't have an RoDS and a teleport wand in his bag.
Any time a player finds Executor and fails to use it, the RNG kills a cute dog.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Monk, and ULE Priest down.
UnID'd goodies don't count, and I died the very moment I saw the creature so I had zero turns to react. :P
Argh.
It all went like this...Code:Frida, the trollish monk, was killed by Ellie, the greater earth elemental. She scored 105776 points and advanced to level 9. She survived for 0 years, 15 days, 3 hours, 32 minutes and 45 seconds (28464 turns). 4 companions were killed during her adventures. Frida visited 20 places. Her strength score was modified by +21 during her career. Her learning score was modified by +25 during her career. Her willpower score was modified by +1 during her career. Her dexterity score was modified by +9 during her career. Her toughness score was modified by +16 during her career. Her charisma score was modified by +10 during her career. Her appearance score was modified by +6 during her career. Her mana score was modified by +6 during her career. Her perception score was modified by +6 during her career. She ended her adventuring life on level 15 of the caverns of chaos. 594 monsters perished under her attacks. The following two artifacts were generated during her adventure: the si the scythe of corruption "Moon Sickle" She possessed the following intrinsics: She was poison resistant. She was acid resistant. She was lucky. Fate smiled upon her. She was able to control teleportation. She was invisible. She was resistant to death rays. She was shock resistant. She was able to see invisible things. She was immune to fire attacks (gained through an item). She had the following talents: Alert, Careful, Miser, Quick, Treasure Hunter. She had a final speed score of 110 (final base speed: 110). She was a fervent follower of Ne'Ftrr. She did not ask for divine help. She was neutrally aligned. She was slightly tainted by Chaos.
I was lucky enough to find three consecutive royal guard rooms early on, which gave me like $60.000 total, and a pool which gave me two wishes (I went for crystals of knowledge and red dragon scale mail; I regret not having picked 7lbs). I used my money to train with Garth and get very close to my deity.
I came out of DH with two new best friends: Ellie, the Earth elemental, and Bally, the balor. Having just completed one of Thrundarr's quests, I decided to come back to him via the animated forest. Halfway through it, Ellie turned on me, as I said before. I lured her a couple of levels further down and left her there, then came back to the animated forest and kept slaying trees with Bally.
Fast forward several thousand turns later, I was fighting a couple of stone giant lords who had turned hostile on me shortly after being summoned by Bally (gee thanks Bally -_-). I used coward tactics to lure them to D:15 where an altar was waiting for them. However, one of them hit me really hard, forcing me to teleport away to recover... but I picked the worst possible spot to land on: right next to Ellie. I couldn't teleport again because I had no PP left and only like 21 hp left. I ran for my life but she caught up and got rid of me in one hit.
Why, Ellie, whyyy?
Wha-
What the heck is a wall beast anyway? I've never seen one before, let alone in D:10... Do they even occur naturally or did you get the "You sense imminent danger" message? Either way it's a shame.
Life is not worth living without Treasure Hunter.
First one I see as well, I only met living walls before. Apparently it's a mobile stone block trap.
Correct, except for the mobile. Living walls can move, wall beasts are fixed in place. And like all missile attacks, you can reduce the chance of getting hit by a wall beast's thrown rock by walking around in Coward mode. But still, this is as close to straight up being screwed with your pants on by the RNG as one could imagine. Monsters probably think something similar about archers who completely dismember them with arrows from fifty meters away.
Whereas I'm getting undeservedly lucky, finding an adamantium tower shield on D:7 and picking my fights like an idiot. A troll brought me down to 1 HP at one point. I'm still walking and going strong, but not particularly proud about it.
