Hey Soirana, have you hit the bug temple yet? I have an interesting way of handling it that you might like. Once you are about to descend into the basement, use a wand of monster creation with 7 charges, and create hostile monsters around you, so that only one spot is open. Then descend. They'll all follow you, and then you can ignore them while you pick off the claw bugs one at a time. Cool, eh?

I'm surprised you haven't used those acid wands more - they're great boss fellers, especially when the boss is trapped behind some goons that can't see invis (Yuglash often ends up like this). Using ball spells will just open you up to more attacks, which ain't ideal.

Acid balling golems is tedious if you don't have enough PP. Try randomly teleporting till you can get in the weapon room and see if there's something there you can melee them with.

I did a quick test with an old savegame...

You take lightning damage every time you walk.
If you are stationary, you take lightning damage about once every 4-5 turns, including fighting. It is luck dependent (not that it matters much to you). With ankh on, seems to be closer to 1 in 8. Doomed is more like 1 in 3.

Damage seems to be on the order of 1d20 per hit.

[edit]Just for future reference, damage on ice floor is about 1d3 per turn for non-drake, regardless of what you're doing.
