How to play ADOM online on a sever?

Is the Jakkos server down indefinately now? I remember I played it once months ago with no problem, but haven't been able to log in to the server through PuttY ever since. I read on the sticky thread that it's dead, is this true?

If so, are there any plans in the future to be able to play ADOM online again?

for now, yes, ancardia.ath.cx is dead indefinitely.

As for a replacement server:
Problem with that, see, is that nobody knows for absolute sure what jaakkos wants
regarding his server code distribution. We have a copy of it, and there is even reason
to believe it is open source, as he once gave us all access to a git repository which
held the server code (at least, I *THINK* it held the server code). If we continue to
not hear from jaakkos for a long time, I think it is probable that his code will be
implemented on another server.
