Xanor, the dark elven bard

Got beaten to death by the blind, invisible Cat Lord, whose aimless staggering proved to be surprisingly well aimed after all.

Xanor had always been a cat lover. Getting the ability to calm down cats and other animals by playing her mandoline was the biggest reason she became a bard in the first place. Well, that, and getting guys' attention. And she indeed got well along with the feline beasts her whole adventuring life, until one day, in the caverns of chaos, a stupid wild cat made an ugly scratch-mark to her beatiful seven league boots. She get pissed, and thought: "I guess it's alright if I offer that damned cat to my god alive, if he's willing to take it. It's not like I'm responsible for whatever he decides to do with it." But the cat lord would NEVAR FORGET. Well, later she also accidentally transformed a cave lion into a mangled heap with her eternium two-handed sword while passing by. These things happen, the sword is so damn big, she thought.

Anyways, Xanor's adventuring life had been so easy thus far that she thought she would easily beat the cat lord if the dude insists on a fight. If the ancient chaos wurm dropped from 3 hits of her eternium two-handed sword, the cat lord shouldn't be that much of a problem either. She could have just went down the stairs, but didn't want one stupid cat lord to stop her from exploring the level. Well, turns out the cat lord was tough as nails, and took only slight damage from 2 berserker hits with the sword! At that point Xanor realized she was about to die, so she equipped a potion of blindness, threw it to the cat lord's face and tried to escape. But the seemingly aimlessly staggering guy just kept chasing after and hitting her. Then she died. End of story. The cat lord won the game. Again. And there shall be no one to challenge him anymore.. or at least for a long time.

Most notable other stuff included [+1, +3] blessed 7 league boots, which I should have had equipped, so I might have stood a chance running away with a potion of boost speed or something like that. edit: also eternium plate mail. I had loads of useful wands and potions. 5 out of my 6 blessed scrolls of chaos resistance (I luckily found the amulet early enough) had just been destroyed by an eternium golem, which pissed me off, which in turn made me play badly. Maybe I should have stuck to one handed sword and shield style, but berserking away with the E2HS was fun and fast, around 6d5+70 damage with berserk.
