I think this would be nice. The other idea is, too, but I doubt we'll see it implemented. Adding one item per monster sounds like significant coding work.

This is an instance of the birthday paradox: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_paradox

Even if you had as many as 365 such bosses, after drawing only 23 from the random pool you would already have 50% probability of having seen at least one duplicate, even though most people would intuitively estimate a much lower probability.

Choosing numbers closer to what can be expected in this case, if for example there are 80 such low-DL bosses, drawing 15 is enough to get a 75% probability of getting a dupe.

True, but we've seen 3 or 4 duplicate pairs out of ten or so that have been reported.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Aren't some bosses found found at higher DL, or on monsters with lower spawn rates?
Since more time is spent overall on lower DL environments, you would expect a bias towards those bosses.
100 % of games will reach the entry, 50% will reach dwarftown, 25% the graveyard, 10% the casino, etc. (wild assed guesses) So bosses that are based on a Lich won't be seen as much as ones based on rats.

Well, sure. That was sort of my original point: If we're only looking (mostly) at the subset of monsters with very low DL, and we've seen 3 duplicate pairs (correction: the hellhound has shown up 3 times) out of ~10 sightings, that probably means that there aren't all that many low DL bosses.

With the currently seen (weak) boss monsters, it also doesn't really have added value (and kinda detracts from the atmosphere IMO, grumble grumble) to let the bosses be purple.... just let them be their natural colours. By its description for example, the grey slayer was probably designed with the idea that it wouldn't be spotted as quickly if it was lurking in a wall somewhere.

I'd also like that little goblin better if it was just a goblin with a name carrying a big bag of loot.

You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

    Found this one on D:46

You meet Arngrim, the berserker lord.
Coming from the grim Northlands of Ancardia, Arngrim, the berserker lord, is the only one left of his village of Waahl. The rest were brutally slain b Arngrim's bare hands. Nor have the others he has encountered managed to survive, despite overwhelming odds. And now his insane look is focused on a new target, and that target is you...

I one shot him with executor so I didn't get to see if he had any abilities, I should have tried giving him a wedding band to see if it would tame him.

    Found another in UL 4

You meet F'rank, the flesh golem.
This flesh golem seems almost sentient, and you are sure you can detect words in its groans. It is huge and slow, but incredibly hardy. Electical [sic] sparks jump between metal bolts on its neck

He is not vulnerable to fire (had to check lol) and regenerates. Didn't notice anything else while I killed him. Maybe I should have tried electricity to see what it would do.
