Thief guild: do you bother?

I make it a priority if I want to go to the library. Otherwise, I'll half-heartedly try for it if it doesn't get in the way of anything else. I won't change alignment or put points into pick pockets if I have other skills I need, but I'll pick it up and then maybe complete it or maybe not. I generally don't tend to rate detect traps all that highly. For heavily trapped locations, an especially for the mana temple, wands of trap detection are far better.

I like having detect traps. Call me silly.

Then if I'm going Bard, I want to get as many skills to 100 as possible, especially before the level that gets extra skills.
I'm just a completionist like that. I feel ripped off if I get a new skill on the bard level that I could have gotten with $.
