About the Bug Temple, is it 100 *deaths*, or 100 characters? ie, would generating and then quitting/leaving the Drakalor chain count?

You can just edit counter file, if you want.
But note that this is checked only when you create a character.
I'm going to win with Dark Elves of all classes.
Mindcrafter, Necromancer, Beastfighter, ULE Archer, UNE Barbarian done.

Went to the casino. Didn't find any artifacts, but I got a ton of spell books. Got past the eternal guardian, found the shortcut, then got a greater vault of giants and ogre lords. Got about 1/2 way through and I ran out of mana, decided to go to the surface to read books.

Tempted to go to the casino, get something heavy to hold down the space bar, and train with Garth.

Should I keep going down, or take on the rift? I just recently hit level 23, so I probably need some more levels before D50...

Don't worry about levels in the endgame. They will take care of themselves. Killing 3 monsters can get you to level 40 from your current level.

Training at this point is unnecessary, IMHO, but go for it if you really want.

I would be very tempted to clear the giant vault in its entirety before going too much further. You can gain lots of levels + loot, maybe an artifact or two there, with relatively little risk. The only reason to consider the Rift is if you're desperate for corruption removal or need teleport or maybe acid ball castings. You should have lots of books by this point.

Depending on what version you're playing, it may still be fairly profitable to cast from HP all the time in the endgame.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Finished off the vault, got the artifact crossbow and arrow.

Just barely killed off the Master Summoner, gonna take his corpse and make a quick trip to the druid for another potion of cure corruption.

After that, just keep on heading down killing stuff?

    edit:
And the stone beast got fire bolted to death. Gonna go up for another potion, and get rid of the unholy aura corruption.

Unholy aura isn't so bad at this point in the game. Not like you're going to see many shopkeepers.

Did't want villagers to panic in town or anything.

I'm now at the mana temple, wondering if I can take it on. Also considering the Rift, for all the nice spellbooks.

Killed the Archmage. Melee'd most of the monsters, corrupting ones got wand of fireball'ed. Had to lure the archmage out of the temple area so I could acid-ball him to death. I also got 2 levels out of it, and I finally got the spell Farsight.

Picked up the regeneration corruption, I think I'll keep it.

What next? Should I keep going down and try to close the gate? Take on the rift and get ready for the Unicorn quest?

I'd close the gate and win the game. You're so close already--keep your eyes on the prize.

If you have lots of corruptions, may as well do the unicorn quest now. If you have lots of corruption removal to spare, you can do it chaotic way I suppose, depending on how you were crowned.

    http://www.adom.de/forums/showthread...zard-first-win!

Had a few corruptions, but 2-3 PoCC and 4 SoCR. Wand of digging + wand of destruction got the gates closed somewhat quickly. Killed a few of the balors as I was getting 1 or 2 levels each from them. I had also gotten Protector from the potion of uselessness, which was nice.

After killing most of the stuff on D50 I came back up, did the Unicorn quest to remove corruption, and left a hero. Eat it, ADOM. Boo-yah.
