I'd upvote it too. It makes sense for the PC to take one or more weapons he's more proficient with to the Chain. Even if you do start with a bunch of talents as I mentioned earlier, most people won't spend them all on affinities, and there's so much a bunch of DL<3 weapons can do for you before advancing in the game makes them obsolete anyway.
