What is cheat engine

Cheat engine is just basic tool for memory editing in Windows - search for a value, modify it ingame, search for the new value until You location in memory is found and You can modify it. No rocket science.

what makes memory edition not cheating?

Nobody has doubts that memory editing is total cheating, just more convienient

That's what I meant. At no point did I say I wasn't cheating here. Just cheating in a different way than through savescumming.
I learned a lot of things about adom in the past doing that which eventually allowed me to complete the game without cheating, multiple times.
Sometimes I feel like I want a challenge and play normally, sometimes I feel like messing around and then I cheat.
