    Default Giant dragon turtle!!

    Hey guys,

    First post here, so I thought a YASD post would be appropriate.
    I just got one hitted by one of those Giant dragon turtle.... for about 400 hp!!! jeez. I had no idea that those could be so nasty. Too bad, I was just starting to like that char.

    (only started playing Adom a few months ago btw, and it's the first RL I really get into since NH. Awesome game!)

    Does water breathing help vs that attack?
    It said "Louis, the orcish paladin, was drowned by a giant dragon turtle."

    Well in my case I had a blessed ring of the fish; maybe if I had two, and an amulet of water breathing, I would have survived the hit.

    Yeah I fell from my paragon status because of a blink dog killing spree :P For some reason the RNG didn't want me to get intrinsic tele control!
    Funny thing is that after resisting the bolt from my god, he summoned specters although it is a lawful god... I thought it should have been solars no?

    Amulets of water breathing seem to reduce damage, but it's still pretty significant. Rings of the fish are different. They block drowning damage from swimming based on what seems to be a random roll involving the ring's B/U/C status and your Luck, but water bolts still hit with full strength.

    Summons are only "thematic" when caused by praying to a severely irritated deity. Fallen champions always get spectres, no matter the alignment. The cursing and dooming you attain in addition can make them pretty dangerous.

    Anyway, dragon turtles are tough. Invisibility (which you really should have if you're considering entering the WDL) will let you avoid water breath attacks, but after the changes in 1.2.0, it no longer works to avoid being hit in melee. My strategy is to have some spare charges in your wand of teleportation, and it they get too close, zap them.

    Yeah I'll certainly be more careful the next time. I was just there to see whether there was an artifact or SLB on the floor. And I had teleportation on demand; it's really because I had no idea that it was a though mob to avoid and because I killed several of those with no pb (with justifier they go down fast). Lesson learned! the last time it was a damn stone ooze .

    The status of water breathing equipment on water breath attacks is very questionable. I can't find any conclusive testing favouring one interpretation over the other.
    Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

    To lose with a paladin with Justifier, that really bites. I recently had a close call with a dragon turtle myself with a farmer. Took me down to 1HP twice, nasty creatures. I was over confident due to, oddly enough, a paladin with Justifier, the last person I took into there.

    Yeah I was really overconfident especially because I never had any problem in that location before!
    I love to play a pally but if I get anything else than justifier it just feel like they lack something....
