    Sadly enough, I died on my way back from the DH, paralyzed by dark elven priestess, smashed to pieces by a stone giant...
    Gonna go with the wizard, no way i am dying this time!
    All roads lead to Chaos in the end..

    ok you can chalk up a point for the bard.

    got the Ring of the high kings.

    Wasn't easy, came very, very close to dying at the end.

    1) pyramid was relatively easy with invis, i used a bit of offensive alchemy which killed the mummy in one hit, then invis to escape with about 20 hp.
    2) griffyard was relatively easy, invis, holy water for griff, nonnak i killed with arrows and 7LB, however at one point i got paralyzed and escaped with about 30 hp.
    3) did the druid for the frost bolt
    4) did a few arena fights and picked up the reward from the dwarven elder
    5) the tomb got very, very, very messy. I lured out the skeleton king (he was damaged for some reason) and then tried to escape with the ring. Bad move, i got cornered by a heap of skeleton warriors out on the ice. I had to pray 2x for PP to make more frost bridges, and at one point had to cast from HP. I used all of the Extra healing potions reward from the Griff yard. Got really messy and i lost one batch of stats when leveling up due to the hp cast. On the way out it was horrible, got chased by the skeleton king (he had flee'd to the up stairs), used the teleport wand and it landed me right next to him again... and the lack of waterproof blanket made pretty much everything rust and lost all our scrolls. This guy is an absolute trap magnet. lost a ton of stuff on every trap.. i think we need to do the thief quests pretty bad, i just no turns up my sleave.

    limped back to dwarftown and there you have it.

    I'll give the ranger a try. Thief is all yours. Do you have some idea of how to drop the snake, since I don't think you have frost bolt access (unless you want to wish it)? Thrundarr quests for scroll of familiar summoning is probably possible...

    Ranger has succeeded. Also gets major points for style on this one.

    Highlights:
    -Traveled back to Druid Dungeon, dropped Keethrax easily.
    -Installed poison resistance, got PoCC and power set.
    -Checked out Puppy Cave, but vault was nasty mixed one, so I left.
    -Checked DDL/VDDL. There's a potion shop on DDL that isn't too expensive. Stocked up on water.
    -Headed to CoC. Cleared out Gnoll vault on D:7ish, undead vault on D:12ish. Found AF/DH split. Got some 7Lbs. Ate a karmic lizard, so I guess we're lucky. Install teleport control. There's a spare blink corpse in Waldenbrook's.
    -Headed to Griffyard. Found blue dragon scale armor, large eternium tower shield, wand of destruction, among other things. PV shoots up to 30. Clear Griff/Nonnak easily. Kill wraith for first Thrundarr.
    -Clear Pyramid basically without killing anything. There was a fire vortex on the top level that I used to blow up Rahetep. Got AMW + ankh and left. Unfortunately, acid trap destroyed my frost wand!
    -I try to read our frost bolt book, but no luck. With <60 literacy after the potion of literacy and 13 Le, no chance even in a book room. Okay, so Snake then. I decide to go for SoFS from Thrundarr rewards.
    -Take DH route. DH:1 is fine. DH:2 has greater daemon and berserker emperor on it. I manage to find stairs, but don't recommend visiting. I used AF for remaining trips.
    -Clear Ogre Cave.
    -Make boneheaded rookie mistake and forget to take the Arena quest before getting gladius. Thrundarr wants me to kill a troll berserker. I have maybe 5000 turns left. Pretty much screwed. Well, not quite. I have one chance.
    -Stock up on piety and head back down. Run through undead graveyard with invis. Water Temple on D:19, open with digging, lure out Snake.
    -Snake hits hard and I'm only level 15 with pretty low HP. Decide to blast him down with fireball wand. Get him to critical.
    -Kill Snake from Beyond with wand of destruction. Doesn't count as a kill. Sexy. Had to wrench final charge, sadly, so none of that left.
    -Clear undead graveyard on the way back up. Drop Snake corpse with Waldenbrook, wrap up final couple of turns.
    -Note: I left a bunch of our scrolls in the Barbarian Glade to protect them from water traps. Never got around to picking them up.

    Wow, great job Carter and JellySlayer. Wand of destruction is a great idea, hadn't thought of that.
    For the thief, I'll try for SoFS/WoDestruction/WoCold. There is a RoDS in dwarftown, right? If need be, I was going to use the wish (though if that happens, not 100% sure what best to wish for). Would potions of exchange work on either monster (my guess is orb guardians may be immune)? In theory one could also lure the skeletal king out of the level, though on the whole it sounds very dangerous unless I get 7LB or am really buff.

    Potion of exchange will definitely not work on the Snake. Not positive about skeletal king because they can be a random monster.

    As an interesting alternative, I think the skeletal king can be killed by djinni strangling. Not positive about pre20, but it works in 1.1.1 (doesn't work on the snake). If you can lure him to the hallway and make a door behind you, the djinni will squash him.

    LOL - that is an awesome idea :-) Sounds like I have a few options. I'll spend some time building the character and then decide where to go, probably in 8 hours or so once I finish my work for the day.
