That 2837 was caused by trying to cast wish.

Yes, I know, and that's why I was asking, because of

this makes me wonder if theres the possibility of starting with a spellbook of Wish.

Just imagine getting wish from a potion of wonder, then trying to bookcast it on that day that makes your spells cost more pps. That would be kinda a lot of damage

You can definitely start with spellbooks of wish, I've seen it happen. Kind of useless actually, since you can't read the book without starving for long time.

I seem to recall that criticals from very experienced greater molochs can deal several thousands of damage.

Bouncing wand of far slaying bolts in a narrow

How bout the strongest blows dealt by pc to monsters? I know it can't be measured accurately, but one of my barbs one-shotted Sharad. St in 80's, backstab, Wyrmlance, Triple damage class power.

Probably monks can be here with their instakills.
