Should I try an ultra?

funnily enough, my CK UCG went into Maze with 0 scrolls of magic mapping... and he went straight down. Unlike any of my underprepared chars, he hit >no< fake levels at all. It was bliss.

for faming the casino you may also gather everything in one corner tile of the shop, then wait for restock - at least half of the space should fill up.

Wow, that's one lucky guy. I still had to go up and down a few times to find the right level.

I managed to find a scroll of danger in the giant GV on D:46, and the artifacts I got were Thunderstroke, Shirt of the Saints and Purifier. I'm currently working my way through the UL, I'll avoid the Mana Temple for now, I'll go as far as Sharad Wardor but then go and finish Gaab'Baay's quests and get the Medal of Chaos. I'll drop that off at the Glade then change my alignment to neutral and get crowned (you only need to be chaotic to do Gaab'Baay's quests right?).

Any thoughts on what I should spend my wish on now?

If you haven't killed Keriax yet, I heard death ray is a quite good way to deal with him. Maybe wands of death then? They make clearing D:50 quite easy and uneventful too.

also, consider saving it for Andy, a single wish for 'speed' will temporarily shoot you to levels where you can wreck him comfortably.

Keriax I've yet to do yet, I'm on day 137 so I think I'll get a shot at him on day 150...

I got the Medal of Chaos, then I changed alignment to neutral and got crowned with acid immunity and the Ring of Immunity. I then went to the Blue Dragon Caves and did Sharad Waador's quest, obtaining Needle. Splinter is now level 33 and is quite the powerhouse! I think I'll definitely try the Mana Temple now. There's a large room filled with ghost kings on the way there, however, so I'll have to tread carefully.

Otherwise, I would love some tips for getting to level 45... the Blue Dragon Caves were a lot easier than I anticipated, I shot the purple W to pieces and killed the remaining wyrms in melee. Where else can I go to get levels?

Update...

Splinter is level 39 and is on a drive to get to level 45 to get the Filk Quest. He decided to go on a dragon-killing spree, and easily took out Sharad-Waador, Blup's mother and Keriax, the latter giving him the Crown of Chaos which has been stashed at the Barbarian's Glade. He obtained Courage through a potion of education. I also killed Kherab.

I still have that ring of djinni summoning - should I use it to summon an emperor moloch to get more levels? I don't really want to sit in the Blue Dragon Caves grinding xp. Splinter's corruptions go down to J at the moment, and he has 10 scrolls of corruption removal and 4 potions of cure corruption and I've not done the white unicorn's quest so I think things are okay on that front.

She wasn't too bad, I teleported in, zapped her with magic missile, then stood out of direct view of her and shot her with dragon slaying arrows whilst on berserk. My stats and weapon skills are pretty good at the moment so it was easier than expected! My speed is also around 170 (normally around 150 but got +20 speed from the lost weight corruption) so she didn't move very fast.

If you clear D50 you will gain several levels, you have plenty of corruption removal so you shouldn't have to worry on that front. Also you still have to get the Trident, unless I missed something, the levels leading up to the crumpled scroll are dangerous but that also means they are good exp.

Oh, I was under the impression I couldn't enter D50 until I'd gotten the Trident (I don't have it yet) because of the direction of the staircase? Or am I completely wrong about how the staircase between D:48, D:49 and D:50 works after you close the gate?

There is no way back when you activate the orbs if you want to make an ultra.I would rather save the wish for end emergency and grind in dragon caves or ToHK to make more levels. Perhaps you try slowing down the char a bit, to get more XP. Have 6 you explored all the levels in the UD/CoC till D:48? There usually are tension rooms with titans, molochs, etc, so you can get XP quickly.

No tension rooms, but I ended up just hanging around the dragon caves, using the invisibility/slow monster trick to boost xp when I came across a titan or a greater moloch. So, I've managed to get to level 45, I've chatted to the Assassin Prince and now it's time for me to make the dive to look for Filk... even though I don't know what my first kill was! How exciting (but scary)! I did pick up another ring of djinni summoning, so I have 2 wishes available to me if needed.

Splinter's corruptions are now at letter L. Given that I don't know how far down I'll have to go and I don't want to use up corruption removal scrolls unnecessarily, should I do the white unicorn's quest to give myself a clean slate before I make the dive? I know I'll need to be super corrupted anyway to enter the Chaos Gate...
