    Default Orc Beastfighter, failed ultra

Started the game like every game, kill beggar get pickpocketing head to HMV.
Did all the starter quests, then headed to Dwarftown. Back to surface for graveyard/pyramid. All pretty trivial for this character.
Back to DF to finish quests. Found a white unicorn in dwarven halls and ran away through the animated forest. Found a RoDS on the way to khelly so I saved him, and also the Robes of Resistance from a regular vault.
Did a few random dungeons and found an amulet of life saving, oh well. Then got High Kings.
Headed back to CoC to get the water orb and strong enough for dwarevn halls with my helm of teleportation. Killed that white unicorn and.... N= to C-. Lesson learned. Nothing a lot of whipping couldn't fix.
Used 2 potions of invis to get through to unlock the ice queen dungeon. Did everything except the GGV and got some decent stuff/levels.
Headed to minotaur maze with 9 scrolls of magic mapping. Manually mapped ~6 levels, and then used all 9 scrolls. I think I found the bottom somewhere around the 7th scroll but I missed it and spent another 30 minutes wandering around. Silver arrow was worth it though.
Went back and did GGV. Skullcrusher, woo. ToEF was easy, charged through CoC to Darkforge shortcut... nothing interesting in casino. Non-hostile, non-friendly cat lord, but I killed another cat later and then he tried to kill me.
Wished for pair of SLB since I was around day 147 (I guess Beastfighter class ability isn't like SLB on wilderness). Killed Keriax pretty easily.
Dove down to mana temple, got needle, ignored the GUV and back to surface. Decided to head to SIL to grind up from 40-45, and found a greater moloch tension room on ID55, so that got me up there. Headed all the way back down to get to assassin prince.

Back in the ID, expected to find Filk on ID1 with my beggar kill. ':k' 'beggar' "0 kills". Apparently I forgot to kill a beggar, so my first kill could have been anything. But I got the Barb quest around level 15 and I still hadn't hit 10 kills yet from when I accepted. So I went to ID31 and zapped a wand of monster detection on every floor and didn't see any quicklings. I then compiled a list of every monster with more than 30 kills which could have reasonably been my first kill - 41, 45, 50, 51, 53, 60, etc.... all the way up to 111, 129, 191. I zapped a wand on every one of those key floors and rushed through the others. I got to 111 and nothing - 129 was goblin and 191 was rat. I decided it wasn't worth it - maybe I had missed him and he was in the wilderness. ~2 hours later, I made it out and wandered the wilderness for about 200 turns. No Filk.

At this point I was a bit unhappy, to say the least. It was 4am. So I just said screw it, I'll just go rush and close the gate so I can sleep. Rushed down to D50, slaughtered everything in the side rooms and decided to just clear the floor and hit the handles. Easily handled all the balors and killed fisty with my bare fists. Mindlessly spamming arrow keys to kill off the remaining enemies, and a ghost lord instakills me through 3 potions of longevity with no prior aging.

Mad about the first kill, but not with the death. I gave up mentally once I hit ID111 without Filk and didn't really care what happened after that point.
