    Default What to wish for

After finding an ordinary ring in the ogre cave, and using my (last) holy water on it, I don't know what to wish for. I already have 2 seven league boots which l found from some enemies, and an amulet of life saving I robbed from the black market. I am a level 13 gray elf wizard, 16str, 23le, 17wi, dex22, to18(I have +4 tougness and +3 from items) 19pe, and 30 mana (it was my starting mana at the beggining of the game). So what to wish for? I also have cure light and serious wounds, along with darkness and invisibility, 100 castings of acid ball, fire bolt, and magic missile, thats all.
Oh, I'm at the chapmion of arena quest, and haven't descended far into CoC yet (D:15).

    Good Wishes:

Eternium Tower Shields can be valuable early on, and can really further encourage increases to your shield skill along with providing extra protection and dodge value.
Eternium Plate Mails OR Red Dragon Scale Mails (My personal choice based on what you've said) - both give you extraordinary PV bonuses that are highly valuable in the early game, and the second one gives you a valuable intrinsic resistance for the Tower of Eternal Flames.

    Other Possibilities:

Skills - Find Weakness is a valuable skill that allows you to do more damage in melee thanks to increased critical hit chance. Potions of Education can help you if you want chances at more than 1 skill, although you can end up with trash.

PoGA Ingredients - If you have already maxed out your Alchemy skill, you should be able to tell what your ingredients for a Potion of Gain Attributes are. Figure out if wishing for a particular ingredient (in plural form, ofc) would enable you to make more PoGA's.

    Unrelated Note:
Have you not found herbs yet? One thing you should know is that by increasing your stats through equipment, you make it more difficult for you increase your stats via other methods. For example, if you can get a stable patch of morgia/mareilon, you can get your Wi/Dx/To all to 25 or so without any extraordinary measures, and then put your equipment on on top of that to further increase the stat. You just have to make sure that your stats are unaffected by equipment when you "u"se or "e"at the herbs.

EDIT: I noticed you have Invisibility AND Magic Missile. A possible wish for you is an Ancient Karmic Wyrm. As long as you have PLENTY of magic missiles to kill him, and constantly remain invisibile, NEVER letting it drop, you can gain around ~4 million experience if you manage to kill him while he is invisible (due to casting your invisibility spell on him). If you can acquire a spellbook of Slow monster, you can also slow yourself at the end to gain you a net experience gain of double that 4 or so million, at ~8 million. This should gain you around 15-20 levels, which translates to a massive increase in survivability. Only take this choice if you're sure you have enough castings of magic missile, because it will take ALOT, and if you're feeling a bit scummy, as its a bit of a cheap way to harvest experience.

I have found herbs, but I only have marelion, I had morgia but accidently acid balled it. l'm playing as typing this, and I'm almost done with the arena. I also have teleportitis and teleport control from pools, I got cursed from the pool too. If I did find weakness, I might be able to become melee, considering cure light/serious wounds, darkness, and invisibility. I have a large crystal tower shield (-1)[+10,+2], and am fighting in berserk right now, saving my 100 castings of acid ball/fire bolt/magic missile for emergency. My potion of gain attributes recipe is potion of cure corruption and potion of youth . For eternium/dragon mail armor, that may be helpful, but anything that does enough damage that 13 pv will matter I will be able to be fine because I have 700 castings of cure serious wounds and 400 of cure light wounds. Any other ideas?

    EDIT
About your edit, I do have slow monster . I only have 150 castings of magic missile, will that be enough? Also, where should I summon ancient karmic wyrm? I'll do it after I do pyramid.

    EDIT
YAY!!! I just found herbs on D:5 and stabelized some morgia roots!!!!!

You aren't going to have nearly enough magic missile I would guess...Ok, lemme think some more. If you have 13 PV, that's not bad, and will be plenty for most conventional threats at the point of the game you're at. Your shield is good, good enough to be make the shield wish pointless. Nice on the herbs btw.

I think I'd still suggest Red Dragon Scale Mails. I don't know what your body armor is at the moment, but one of these can last you the entire game and are specifically very useful for the Tower. Although since you have teleportation and teleportation control, I would suggest raiding Darkforge for armor and weapons before you use the wish, as you might find really nice items there (high chance of armor equivalent to what I suggest wishing for).

So, save the Wish until after Darkforge at this point, unless you want more spells...And that gave me an idea. If you're careful, spellbooks of Lightning Ball can be an excellent way to gain a few levels by wiping out the denizens of Darkforge and saving your teleportation for a greater need (the Steel golems give good experience, and are weak against Lightning Balls, they should die to one or two balls each).

Well, I just finished all of thrundarr's quests except the graveyard. My current armor is crap... a +2,+0 robe. Used to be +2,+1 but was damaged. The reason I don't want dragon armor is because I don't think my health is any problem for enemies that won't 3 hit kill me. A newbie question coming up... Where and how do you exactly get to darkforge? I haven't ever gotten that far into the game. So, your telling me to wish for ball lightning spellbooks? Also, where should I go after pyramids?
    EDIT
I didn't understand what you said about my teleportation... It's teleportits, not on demand. Also, I think I'm going to skip the pyramids... I don't have anything to kill the enemies with.

Darkforge is in a certain cave south of the Caverns of Chaos. It contains valuable equipment to those brave enough to get past its denizens (those nasty Steel Golems). Only wish for those Spellbooks if you want to take all of the Golems down now, as later on you should have a better means of fighting them. They're basically a shortcut, if you will. There are other places in the game to acquire all of the spells you'd ever need otherwise...

Well, if you really don't want the armor, aside from the above there are good weapon based wishes (phase daggers, eternium spears if you want to take a chance on a good prefix/suffix, etc.). Also, if you're going to do the pyramid, you can get a solid armor that will serve you well from the being who so graciously invited you...don't forget to raid his personal tools stash

Regardless, don't use your wish in haste just based on what I say. It's not going anywhere, unlike a pool-based wish Just make sure it is blessed when you finally get around to using it!

EDIT: Oops, missed that it was teleportitis, and not on demand. So yeah, don't do Darkforge unless you're willing to spend the wish on the books to actually kill the Golems. Otherwise, you'll most likely be killed by them while you wait for it to kick in so you could reach the treasure stashes.

You can clear the dangerous monsters in the Pyramid with the spells that you have. Actually, most of the monsters in there are undead, so you can even kill them with repeated castings of cure wounds if you want. The rewards of the pyramid are too good to pass up in my opinion. Note too that many monsters (not the mummies in the pyramid specifically, but a lot of others) can't fight at all in darkness and will just stand there while you kill them.

I think your lack of spells is probably the most serious issue facing this character. My first inclination would be to head to the infinite dungeon and search the first couple of levels for more books. You could also fight a lot of monsters in the Big Room for the same effect, although it is riskier as you can imagine.

As far as wishes go... 150 castings of magic missile might be enough to kill an AKW. I've killed them with a blessed wand before and it normally takes about 30 charges--it's good if you can bounce them to hit him twice. If you can't kill it though, well, you'll be in some trouble. I'd wait until you find another MM book before pursuing this route. I don't normally like wishing for equipment except for seven league boots or girdles of giant strength unless I find my wish super early--certainly I would wait until after you've done Darkforge before wishing for dragon scale armor at this point.

[edit]If you have a wand/scroll of item detection, there is a free wand of teleportation on the second level of the dusty cave (on the road near the pyramid). It's the level with all the teleportation traps. Use item detection, cover the wand you see with your mouse, then teleport there. If you go down the stairs, it will teleport you away so you don't need to use the wand. You can charge the wand with appropriate potions or scrolls.

Any time a player finds Executor and fails to use it, the RNG kills a cute dog.

Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

I think the manual is right on when it says:
If you do not want to wait for a certain item, just wish for it as soon as you receive a free wish.
You don't seem to have any castings of frost bolt, which is needed for the High Kings tomb. Also consider wishing for things like fireproof blankets (spares never hurt) or rings of ice for the ToEF. I find in my games that if these items don't turn up I end up pulling my hair out because I'm stuck in the upper CoC.
If you are going for ultra then the ingredients for the medal can be wished for. The problematic ones could be the PoCC or the scroll of danger.
You can also wish for stats. I would suggest Wi (after getting it to 25 with morgia) for better ball spells or Le for more effective spell learning.
In terms of wearable equipment, you can't go wrong with tower eternium shields or eternium plate mails.
Most importantly, don't save the wish hoping that you will think of something really spectacular to wish for later. You never know what will happen in the future, so make use of your resources now.

Also, are you sure the ordinary ring is actually an RoDS? I had many instances where it turned out to be a ring of stun resistance or a ring of slaying.

    Spellbooks of Strength of Atlas.
    Spellbooks of Burning Hands.
Even perhaps Spellbooks of Farsight if you're paranoid about cats as I usually am.

Of course armour/shield wishes are also useful, but I would raid Darkforge before wishing for something like that. You may easily find good armour there making those wishes relatively useless.

Thanks for all the ideas... I still want to know exactly where darkforge is, and how to get to it. I don't think spells will be that much of an immediate problem as I can still do the Keethrax quest. Weapon wishings will be kind of pointless, because I got Rolf's companion. The ordinary ring is a ring of djinni summoning, identify scrolls FTW!
    EDIT
Just got spellbook of Strength of Atlas. For Dusty Dungeon, do you need a wand of item detection, or could I just randomly teleport till I find?

    EDIT
Just found spellbook of magic missile, and got frost bolt from Keethrax. So where should I wish for an Ancient Karmic Wyrm?
