Thanks. Holy crap, the skeleton king was easy. About 2 times as easy as Snake from Beyond, was in an area 3 times as easy to attack, and the lack of enemies had it 4 times easier. It was about 22 times easier than the water temple. So, to darkforge, then to Garth! Also, what should I do after I finish darkforge? I'm thinking tower of eternal flames, so can somebody tell me what items I need to do it? Thanks.

    EDIT
Actually, can I go to the library now? Do you need a certain level of climbing? Is there a reason not to?
Wow, just finished dark forge, extremely easy, acid balled the golems. I found white dragon armor, +11 protection. So where to now? I really would like help, this character is extremely promising. Eterinium 2 handed sword is my new weapon, less heavy than my shield and weapon by a lot, so I am excited. +18, 6d5+18. Time to go pool drinking, I'm at decent piety.

You need 100 Climbing for the rift.

Now you are level 22 and should have an easy (er) time in the tower. Fire immunity is desireable. The Steel crown of the Darkforge gives that but is also curses an dooms... not a good deal if you ask me.

You need a (blessed) ring of ice if you need to wear anything vulnerable to fire. 3 or 4 sources of fire resistance are ideal. Instrinsic fire resistance count as 2... elemental gauntlets are one other guaranteed source. If you have 2 sources it is about the same thing as having 3. So with 2 sources and any source of regeneration you are good to go.

Fireproof blanket is necessary if you don't have a ring of ice. I consider it a must, even with the ring. But the blanket won't protect what you are wearing. If you don't have the ring, wear artifacts only and high metal items (mithril will do, but the higher the better of course). Then you might want a source of confusion resistance as well. If you have a PoCC, bless it and throw at the ACW to disable him when you get the chance. Also you might wanna use potions of sickness, confusion and blindness (cursed invisibility also works). Have a source of diggingfor the top level... and be invisible if possible.

Those are about the usual tips you would get.

Don't change to two handed now! Level 22 doesn't mean you are invincible in the ToEF. Put that damn shield up again! =P. Two handed is almost always not worth it... just beserking barbarians use it with reasonable success. And if you already have permainvisibility and or teleport, i wouldn't risk losing it by poolsipping

Thanks a lot. I took one sip from one of the 3 pools, only 3, and it dried up. I then decided to quit. No need for big risk, when 3 pools have already been generated elsewhere. So I think I might have instrinct fire resistince(spelling), gauntlents, and crown of regeneration, and ring of fire resistince. I don't know if I have aby if those potions... I wished for an ACW and killed it so why can't I kill this one? Why would I throw a potion of cure corruption? I also have ring of high kings, which I think gives resistince. I have no valuable items except for my 6 scrolls of cure corruption, which I will drop.

    EDIT
Oh, ancient CHAOS wyrm, not KARMIC wyrm.

Ancient Chaos Wyrm also sees invisible so you wouldn't be able to kill him at a low level anyway =P
Throwing a PoCC causes some good damage and also disables some of the special abilities fo the Wyrm like corrupting and/or energy bolt i think. Someone else might be better prepared to confirm that for you.

You don't need any further resistance than gauntlents + RotHK + blessed crown of rgen. But the crown is a risk of melting. It might not... it will probably not if blessed. But you will be wise to finish the ToEF as fast as possible w/o a ring of ice.

With my single win, a Drakeling Wizard, I recall wishing repeatedly for Potions of Willpower. In conjunction with the Sword of Nonnak, an Amulet of Perseverance, and the Water Orb, my willpower skyrocketed. My character's ball spells had quite a large radius. The TOEF was quite easy, as I could ice ball everything to death with ease. The rest of the game was also easy, as I could acid ball everything to death with ease. Ultimately, if you are a wizard and have a lot of excess wishes on your hands, I'd spend them on Willpower.

Do you have any books of Strength of Atlas? That spell increases your carrying capacity based on your Mana stat. It's also a great way to train Mana. Read the book once, so you know the spell, then book-cast it to empty your PP. Anytime I have to walk through the wilderness, I stop, book-cast it till I'm out of PP, then walk a few squares till PP is regenerated. Repeat. Trains Mana, and the castings stack, so carrying capacity is insanely high for quite a while.

You can train Mana in the wilderness the same way with any spell book, but Strength of Atlas is nice because those repeated castings actually give a nice ongoing benefit, in addition to training Mana. Bless is also good, and Invisibility too, but SoA castings have a longer duration.

Thanks so much! Where to after the tower?

    EDIT
Holy crap, I wasn't paying attention to may mana, its 38. My willpower is only 31 I need it at 32 for longer range, no pick axes have been generated yet. Do wands of digging/mystic shovel work to dig the sword?
Wait! I have a +3 willpower amulet. Is there anywhere I can go besides the ToEF? I don't feel safe doing it at level 24, and don't want to risk it.

Yes a wand of digging or the spell should work fine, just 'z'ap or cast it on yourself (5).

Remember that worn equipment like that amulet can burn inside the tower if you do not have a blessed ring of ice equipped.

If you are not sure about how strong your character is, then you could go to the ID to find some more books and spells.

I think you did most other area's. Did you do all the dwarf quests?

Can you perhaps post a character dump so we can see your inventory and skills?

After the tower you can descend further down the CoC ... you can finish the game without coming out again if you are going for a normal ending. The other area's, like the library and bugwill are optional.

I did it yesterday at lvl. 19 or 20, and without problems. In fact, I think I haven't ever done the ToEF with level higher than 21. Of course, you have to ensure that you have enough fire resistance, and means to deal with the ACW.
