Default Easy IRC and server access

So some people seem to have trouble with this sort of thing - haven't a clue why... In the following archive you'll find Putty and MegaIRC, both of which run straight from their .exe (no installing programs or anything, put them wherever you want). Hopefully they should have saved the settings I put in them.

    To get MegaIRC working:
    1. Run MegaIRC.exe
    2. Go to config and change "Nick" to your name.

    To get Putty working:
    1. Run putty.exe
    2. Double-click on "ADOM Server"
    3. Enter spectator/spectator as your username/password

Now everyone join in the fun - no excuses, no complaints

No joy with MegaIRC - tries to connect, fails. No idea why - putty works no probs. Thanks for trying though

    Odd, worked for Qui.

Try changing the server name on IRCNet to "ircnet.demon.co.uk".

Is the problem with connecting anywhere, or just to IRCnet?

No joy anywhere. Was same story with mIRC... Considering how poorly protected the uni server is in general, I really don't understand what the problem is...

The other day I was on ircnet, and I noticed that my server was in the US while I'm from Europe. So I tried to connect to this ircnet.demon.co.uk, but it didn't work. It said I wasn't authorised to connect to that server. Perhaps because it only accepts UK or European domain names? (my ISP is from Spain, but its domain is a .com).

I don't know if this could be the problem, but if it is, just set irc.ircnet.com rather than ircnet.demon.co.uk as the default server and it should work.
