122. Blasted into oblivion by a fatal exception.
123. Lost due to an unknown error resulting in the game freezing.
124. Shredded when Windows choked on its own vomit.
125. Exterminated by a power outage.
Just lost a character to 123.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.
126. Quitting because your cat jumps on the kb and presses Q -> y (yes this did happen to me once)
Edit: I've also quit several times when I was supposed to save.
That's kitty karma for you. You deserved it.
▼ All their fault. ▼
I've had the program itself crash numerous times, fatally. It wouldn't even allow for the program to open again, until I cleared out all the files in the "adom_dat" folder (including saves - though I don't know if I needed to do that).
Does this constitute death?
Also, one for the comic pages...
Sacrificed, on an aligned altar (chaos when C-), because I forgot it was there and decided to start fletching a log... WOOT?
Feel like celebrating a one year hiatus for this thread - Like Jones said a long while ago: Deaths in the arena ARE unique.
I've got "killed in the arena by a cave bear on level 5 of the caverns of chaos"
So being killed in the arena is special. And most of the deaths on the list can probably be produced there. Haven't tested if dying by other means also gives the "in the arena" unique bit.
Hrm, I guess it deserves a special mention, but I'm not sure it justifies duplicating 90% of the death causes.

Well, you could just say "any death method in the arena" (provided that all other deaths also produce the message).
