    Default Items Questions

I invite anyone to use this thread to ask about items they don't know about. Not sure what it does or it's meaning? Not sure on a good way to find a certain item? Ask here and I'm sure someone can help.

As for me...I do have a question. I just acquired an "uncursed ring of the clear mind". Never seen that one before...just what does it do?

Edit: Nevermind...I realized I had a scroll of greater identify. Protects against confusion attacks. Nifty.

It grants confusion resistance. This is extremely helpful in certain boss fights, especially if you have low willpower.

Which I do. Willpower is a 7 That ring and the ring of immunity is going to be a nice combo.

You'll definitely want to use herbs to get your Willpower higher then because not even a ring of the clear mind wil be enough against some bosses.

You don't. It's a joke item. TB is one cruel German (-:

However, if you're really desperate for finding a use for them, dipping them into plain uncursed water yields a blank scroll, upon which you an write with a writing set.

I found out that they're useless on D49 too - they're too light to propel you along the ice. Same with herbs and some potions.

Here's an item question for discussion:

Phase Dagger vs *Weapon* of Penetration.

Is there any major differences between a phase dagger and a weapon with the suffix 'of penetration'?
The more you play the better you get!

most notably damage and weapon type, also you can get higher metals of penetration which are not as easily destroyed as phaseblades.

Phase daggers also give an annoying message every time you hit an enemy with them, whilst penetration weapons just do the job without spamming the screen with long messages. A higher metal weapon of penetration is infinitely preferable to a phase dagger, especially if it's in a weapon type you've been specialising more in like polearms.
