Possibility of Precrowning /w multiple artifacts

I'm sorry if this is common knowledge, but its the first time it's happened to me.

I had a PC precrowned with farslayer, thunderstroke, with 3 stacks of quarrels as well (2 standard, 1 higher metal). It seems that these two can be considered something of a 'set'.

I've only ever gotten Sun's Messenger as a crowning gift from elves, never a precrown, but is it possible that it would ever come with true aim?

You're right, it wasn't.

I don't mind too much, i suppose. It always the "at least it isn't the black tome" line of thinking for me, i generally never expect anything exceptional.

Also, i wonder why i've never run into this before. This can't possibly be the first time i've been precrowned with thunderstroke, though i don't really remember for sure. It is possible... there are some artifacts i don't ever recall being precrowned with, and others i've never owned at all. Aside from Sun's messenger, im unsure if they are class restricted, or the the RNG just never gave 'em to me.

There are 23 random artifacts, that you may find from precrowns, greater vaults, casino, random drops, etc. Some of these are available as crowning gifts too. Many artifacts though can only be attained through crowning, such as Sun's Messenger and Vanquisher. It's quite possible you've never been precrowned with Thunderstroke before but have found it in vaults or something, which wouldn't come with the extra crossbow and quarrels. I'd say it's the second worst random artifact in the game...

I honestly don't know why anyone counts these. Precrown C, get ammo? Sacrifice to L or N god, obviously they have the good stuff and you should precrown somewhere else.

Black Tome is by far the worst.

I'm actually certain that i've never been precrowned with true aim, so it's one of those that i'm unsure of whether they are crowning/vault only or not.

If it's available, however, it's on par with thunderstroke. Potentially worse, imo.


There's also a few other artifacts that i'd find to be worse than Thunderstroke:

Nature's friend is a shield that grants resistances that a PC should have by midgame anyway, and terrible DV/PV. Also have no love for long sting. I also see a silver key artifact listed, but I have never, ever owned it, vault, crowning or otherwise. If it exists, however, it's also up there in worthlessness.

I'd take thunderstroke over these simply on the basis that i'd at least use thunderstroke, however insignificant it may be.

Silver key is only available as a thief crowning gift - Perion's mithril plate mail as well. Both are extremely crappy artifacts, but I'd like to have them once - just because.

I want to have Vanquisher or Sun's Messenger once, but alas they have never appeared to me (likely because I don't play the appropriate classes, though I've certainly played elves frequently enough).

Unided decriptions and weights listed because some of them can be hard to notice normally (like Wyrmlance and Purifier, in spite of what the guidebook may say of them they do not normally appear as rune-covered).

I'd say out of that list there'd be around 8 I'd be disappointed to receive (some are borderline, depending on stage of game and character). Generally means a precrown will get you something nice.
