The worst has to be the Shezestriakis surely! What use are they to anyone?

I don't think Perion's is crappy - until you get to Darkforge it's most likely the best armor around, and sometimes after DF as well. I'd rather get that as a crowning gift than Hammer of The Gods.

Shezestriakis has the highest defense rating of all the gauntlets in the game, so a character that doesn't use melee or missile attacks at all might want them (i. e. spellcasters).

And you're right, Perion's is not that bad.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

I would never get crowned before DarkForge personally. The problem with Perion's is the high weight and lack of decent intrinsics or stat bonuses. For many chars AMW might be preferable.

You make a good point about Shezestriakis being worthwhile for a pure spellcaster. That being the case, why on earth are they given to healers (kinda magical I guess), Merchants and MONKS!!??

My Hurthling healer worked like a dog, hunting down and cooking prey for my deity & I'm rewarded with 'The Gloves of Pugilistic Incompetence'. Cheers god!
