Do you remember your first death?

And I mean your FIRST adom death! I do! I had myself a drakeling paladin. In the village dungeon. First floor was a tension level. I of course had no idea what "You feel a certain tension" meant. I found a locked door I couldnt open. Read the manual and found out I can kick doors down. "Cool! I can kick down a door!!!" is what I thought to myself. I did just that. And a stone block fell on my head. Ow almost killed me. Behind it was a tension room full of rats. I didnt think rats would be much of a problem so I dove right in instead of retreating into the hallway. I got surrounded. Long before I Discovered being surrounded gives penalties to hit and dv. The rats quickly engulfed the poor dragon man, consuming him alive. Fun!

btw this was way back in the day of adom. I think it was gamma 6 or something. maybe. All i know is there was no tiny girl, no talents, and plenty of bugs. no annoying vortices either.

Memory is hazy. I think it wasn't starvation. I also THINK it was a human fighter. Everything else is blank. Version was 1.0.0 - I found that one on some freeware site.

I don't remember my death, but I'm sure it was glorious. I was a Dark Elf Assassin. I just felt that seemed to be fitting.

Knowing my general approach to life, I am pretty sure my first death would have been in Terinyo, either by baby dragon, sheriff, thug or shopkeeper. Then lots of starvation deaths after that of course

ADOM was my first roguelike, and I didn't know how to
proceed. I liked the story parts of the manual, and the
race/class differences, but couldn't be bothered to read
the rest (like commands). After trying and failing to enter
Terinyo for a while, I just wandered around the wilderness
until I was killed.

Dark elf assasin, died of starvation without meeting a monster. Viewed my inventory in the death messages and discovered that I still had spider bread, decided to read the manual before I tried again.

killed by some orcs on a hills. in these days i could not figure out how to enter locations. I even have ideas it is survival game with roaming in the wilderness
