Here is a short demo of how to tame the BUGWIL.
I didn't quite last until the killer bugs, as I
got bored and therefore dead. Hopefully, it is
long enough to give the general idea of how the
    process works.

On a side note, I was recently playing around
with bards, and noted a strange thing about
them. I always thought that, when true berserking,
no PC could get the message "do you really want to
attack the foo?"... but bards do! A bard can move
into any monster or NPC in the game, while true
berserking, and not have the slightest worry. How
is it that I am just finding out about this now?!

    I blame Grey for this.

So speed of 106 and 7LBs is enough to outrun the green ones, nice, but what about the black ones? Two green ones as meat shields?

A bizare discovery, gut, but very true it seems. I can only presume I never noticed because I don't tend to go around true berserking a lot, especially not near NPCs (you never attack pets in a rage with other classes anyway).

As for taming bugs, with SLBs you can still outrun the killers quite easily. It just takes a bit of patience and dancing about to get them tamed. I usually use keep the top-right and middle-bottom areas reasonably clear as escape routes (luring the bugs near to the edge so I can re-enter safely). It's usually best not to do at level 1 though just for the extra protection and a bit more food than the average starting PC. On-demand teleport is also hugely helpful.

If you were wondering whether or not killing a BD while L
    would doom you, it won't.

As long as you generate the puppy, he will stay alive...
until he gets his stupid self killed. Since time freezes on
the level after you leave, that shouldn't be a problem.

You should be on the look out for a book of cure light
wounds, and a wand of trap creation. With these, you
can scum Jharod for some free HP's. Have fun : )

Er, were you actually wondering if killing the cute dog would doom you? If so, no - though eating his corpse will. However beware that the cute dog can actually be quite tenacious at level one - high speed and DV and a couple of lucky criticals could spell your death. Unless you have something decent to kill him with.

yeah. iirc, making Terinyo hostile sometimes dooms char. Although it seems doggy is considered neutral.
IIRC, doggy has very low damage output. So unless he goes around armour it should be fine.

Okay, I will go and find that. Thrown rocks at lv4 might do that

Edit: Did that. Even stayed lawful. Although wa ugly. I was bashing doggy for something 50 rounds. And due to some stupid teleport trap it was me in corridor doogy to left and ghull to round for 20+ rounds. Also stupid canine took two hits to dispose. 85 xp points. If i throw in farmer on bloated and strained! this should make a level.

Very bloody level up. But I will need five more for dwarven quest.

    So far kill list:
1 cute dog (original, non wished).

I've got such a message when ordering the tame AD to attack a tame spider. Laughed really hard.
