Posten on the rec.games.roguelike.adom by Laszlo on may 20 2004.

    "Hehe, this should be fun.

So, you think you're a True Master of ADOM (tm)? Well, have I got the
challenge game for you! The Zen Monk.

For those of you familiar with Nethack's Zen Samurai challenge, you'll
know what's coming. You have to play a permanently blind monk. It is,
I think, _theoretically_ possible to complete the game blind. The Zen
Samurai challenge has, in fact, been completed in Nethack. I propose
a contest: see how far you can get with the Zen Monk!

There are only two restrictions for this challenge game:

    1) You must play with the savegame I provide. It's a 102 KB file, and
I'll email it to anyone who wants it. If anyone can host it, that
would be even better, of course

    2) You must never use the "Wipe Face" command.

Basically, what I did was I started a human monk, went straight to the
ID and level-scummed until I found a room which hit me in the face with
mud. Then, I found my way out (careful not to kill anything) and went
back to the starting point of the Drakalor Chain, eating the extra
rations I found while scumming so the character wouldn't have to start
    hungry.

Obviously, playing this challenge game is horrendously difficult.
Naturally, you're allowed to start over with the savegame if you
die, but please, _please_ do not save-scum otherwise. See how well
    you can do without savescumming!

Good luck! Again, if you want the savefile, email me or ask for it
here. Ditto if you can host it. "

Actually Laszlo rules have one flaw/work around.

Since you play multiple times uou gain out of game item knowledge. Example: I perefectly remember translucent potion being invisibility. I could look at my own efforts at brinkster forums for more...
I was heavily puzzled how legal that is.

I think, it is not so legal, but less avoidable at the same time. In Adom it's difficult not to use info you already have. I think, this is a ridicously hard challenge. Do you paint maps and count keystrokes? Very much respect for trying that. I would not have fun doing so.

Could you not endeavour to create a new one? One with a few more points of To?

Wow, this one is a true challenge that a few would dare to attempt and have the guts to keep going despite the difficulties. Best of luck in your attempt =)

I vote for something with paralysis.

The point about magical shocks training concentration is interesting - shows very conclusively that it's PP regeneration that trains the skill. Also I have to laugh about the torch

You have any chance of getting your hands on some morgia and moss? You're still extremely vulnerable till you get those. Also... how the hell do you cross the Big Room?
