    Default strange fortune cookie messages

Some strange fortune cookie messages, that are riddles for me:

"Those of Trollish Blood must drink from the bloody pool."
"They say that the dungeons of mystery consist of 100 levels."
and of course one saying, that undead do not like mareillon...

Has anyone any comments on these? Guesses? Information?

    Another fortune cookie message:

"Do not believe everything They say."

Personally I'd LOVE a 100-level Caverns of Chaos with danger levels and assorted menagerie extending to level 96 or so. ADOM extended!
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

    > Has anyone any comments on these? Guesses? Information?

A few guesses, no information, and hordes of worthless
    comments:

    > Those of Trollish Blood must drink from the bloody pool."

Simple, you see, there are a few rather chaotic races in
Ancardia, but they are CAPABLE of both good and evil. From
the view of the dwarven artificer, this is unacceptable.
That's why he refuses to grant his third quest to any but
the very most devoted chaotics. To prove your absolute
devotion to chaos, you must be a troll/orc/dark elf, and
drink from the pool in the ancient stone cirlce after
killing the greater white unicorn. However, this means that
your PC can never again be L, or even neutral.

    > "They say that the dungeons of mystery consist of 100 levels."

Yes, the first 50 are under the 'Thrundarr' levels, but the
last 50 are the 'Rolf' levels. You see, if you decide not to
enter or close the chaos gate, you can chose to keep descending
through the CoC until you find the second dwarven village. This
one was founded by Rolf long ago. You see, he was L+++, and
tried to enter the choas plane on silvernight. He wasn't
wearing all the right gear though, so the chaos beings tried to
turn him into a chaos wretch. They had no power to harm such a
holy dwarf as Rolf, but the energy had to go somewhere. Rolf
was simply redirected back to Ancardia, just on a different
plane. If you would like to access these levels, just make sure
you have the TotRR equipped, and enter the chaos plane on the
dawn of silvernight. Don't forget to bring several potions of
youth with you, as that's how you get the reward for 'being
kind to the ancient dwarf' : )

    >undead do not like mareillon...

Actually, I have a legit guess on this one. I think that's a
hint about raising your Dx stat, that it will help prevent
successful draining attacks. It also might just be a hint to
try to get players experimenting with moss, in case they don't
    use spoilers.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."

Then play ADOM 0.2.0 ;) That cookie message is outdated by now, CoC originally was simply "the dungeons of mystery" and consisted of 100 levels instead of 50.

As for any other cookie messages, the Guidebook has a list and comments for most of them.

You hit Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, and severely wound him.
The greater balor summons some help!
The ratling duelist disarms you. You drop your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12]. It flies to the west.
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, picks up the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, wields the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].

Hey great comments, but nothing new? Is it really the case, that all info in the GB is proven ?

There are some things, were I myself found the guidebook wrong. Only recently, I made dexterity rise to 27 with blessed mareillon, and I got a Toughness rise from eating a huge amount of morgia at To:28. Of course, this also could have been a misinterpreted observation. Then I am absolutely unsure, if the equal likeliness assumed in the GB for pool-sipping events is true. I feel like becoming cursed or doomed much more likely than other things. The same goes for water snakes, which are definitely more frequent than the water elemental.

Most parts of the GB (I don't know all of them) are really helpful and astonishingly correct... but that doesn't mean.. .you know. And additionally, I would like some things still be unknown. Apparently there aren't any more unknown things, however.

I think, I tend to gut's comment on the ancient stone circle pool... I try that next.

PS: No, I do not try anything soon. Adom already stole vast amounts of time and almost always simply let me die. Now, since I completed the game the first times, there isn't much left to try, only very late game quests, that I don't know, and it is a long work going there. Dying short before the next discoveries potentially could be made is a real turn-off, and it happens ever more frequently.

There are some things in the guidebook that are clearly incorrect. For instance, it says that clearing darkforge with a non-troll should result in gaining at least five experience levels. I'm not sure if I've ever even gained two. I mostly just use the guidebook for things like looking up maps of special levels or checking what some item pre-/suffixes mean.
