    Default strength scumming demo

I finally got around to making a strength scumming demo for
the early game. It runs 10-15 minutes, and you'll notice the
profound lack of Dx drains : )

    Why, oh why .exe?

    $ wine STRENGTH.EXE
winevdm: unable to exec 'STRENGTH.EXE': DOS memory range unavailable
Of course it's unfair - that's the whole point.

    > Why, oh why .exe?

In the past I have posted identical demos in both .rec and .exe
formats, heavily advertising the benefits of .rec over the .exe ones.
Without exception, the .exe format demos always had ~10 times
the number of downloads as the .rec ones. It seems that despite
the disadvantages of no rewinding, pausing, fast forwarding, and
virus concerns, the .exe files are always favored. I just stopped
bothering to upload the same file twice.

    Here is the .rec file:

    Thanks a lot!

I think it's just that the majority of people (aka average windows user) doesn't really care - they have enough spy-/mal-/adware on their systems already anyway. Some people do care, most of them probably linux users.

Although it surprises me a little; I always thought roguelikes appealed mainly to programmers, and one might expect they know what is right and what is not.

But then, ADOM was #1 on some big site for a while...

Anyway, that's just the way it is.

EDIT: tried it, but ttyplay gives me just semi-random garbage. Something wrong with the encoding or terminal emulation type? Any ideas?

I recorded it using demo workshop, and you have to
have demo workshop installed to view the .rec files.

I forget the official web adress, so stuck it on a file
hosting site. It's only ~130K zipped, but it's also for
    windows/dos.

I haven't the foggiest, but I probably could have beaten
the game by then : ) Seriously, it takes >1000 turns for
just the stat to increase, and I had to increase the potential
    along with the stat.
