Again, that is part of the risk of diving faster.

It also seems to me that with the experience curve calibrated the way it is, that the development team feels the same way.

Conversely, characters who dive as fast as they can being lower level when they reach the bottom seems like an appropriate and intended feature.

I would say that if the leveling curve should be adjusted at all it should be in the midgame, getting from level 20 to level 30 seems to take about half of my playtime for a successful character

Well, the same argument goes for diving faster. You can explore kill some stuff for like2-33k xp per head find few pots of cure poison and loafs of bread... or you can focus on stuff which matters and win in half the time. Somehow second option is more interesting.

You need to get under 80k turns in order to get bonus score from low turncount. I have my reservations of getting to lv50 (through exploration) in that timeframe.

I also have severe doubts anyone on dev team plays a lot of late game (post Casino).

Maybe you should count how many unique levels CoC has up to graveayard (~D18) and how many in the rest 32 levels - especially since wall of flames and EG is just fancy staircases and bunnies is one zap of wand digging down. So, I don't know about xp, but quest and interest curve is rather poor.

Problem with 20>30 is that after dealing with ToeF (lated teens/early twenties for healthy playstyles) the next big chunk of xp is probably Earth temple, so you transverse ~20 dungeon levels devioded of interesting stuff to do.

p.s. regarding EG - IIRC, I did it ~R70 -- first few are passable xp gains (somewhat comparable to greater moloch value) but they fall off very quickly. Once you are at quarter of initial value they are not really worth killing for their threat level (I think i needed dozen for next level up -- ~lv30 as troll)
