Just tested this in r69: it's possible, just not very likely.

With the regular amount of loot in the game and no particular grinding, I can't believe people don't get a RoDS at some point in every game.

Maybe I'm just that lucky. I should probably start gambling. Oh wait, I already do and my guesses suck. Guess it's not luck then
If you actually posted win logs, I think reasons would be rather clear. It's good that you enjoy running three times around each dungeon (or whatever you are doing), but padding extra 100k to game is what people define as grinding.
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

Even from high-value kills like Casino Shopkeeper, AKW and ABW, there just isn't enough XP available otherwise in the regular course of play.
How about killing eternal guardians? Has the xp from those been nerfed too? Can you still cheese copies to fight each other with an alarm trap?
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

I can't be bothered with that, there's nothing special about these logs, games between 90-150k turns.
Indeed, I clear all the dungeons and visit every location but I'm not going out of my way to reach lvl 50 asap, it just comes naturally through completionist-style of play.
I run around bloated and very strained on a regular basis so that speed penalty might contribute a bit to to the exp gained.

Honestly have no idea. I don't normally use this method.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Ok. Experience sorely does need a buff, in any case. Not sure how we got there from inventing class powers though.

About monk, I agree with Grond about the level 6 power. As it stands it is 100% useless. Maybe it could be replaced with some kick-related skill that has some limited use. A kick that can push the monster backwards?

That's a cool idea! I have on occasion used the circular kick though, it removes the tedium if surrounded by low danger mobs. How about a stunning kick? It might be easier to implement than a push back.

When did the XP get nerfed anyway? The last 10 characters I've won the game with have all hit level 50 well before D:50, and I have not scummed at all in those games. I find it very surprising that there seems to be a significant portion of at least this thread that never hit level 50 upon completing a game. Do you guys just skip the ice queen domain or the two guaranteed greater vaults or something? What places do you guys not visit?

there has been a fairly extensive discussion about the xp curve in the "tackling the new quests and maps for ADOM" thread stickied at the top of the page. The general consensus is that some of the very experienced players here tend to not fully explore the levels of the lower CoC and as a result are walking into D:50 fairly substantially below level 50... I had the same experience as you, reaching level 50 just before or just after entering D50, but our experience is clearly not universal. The opinion that XP needs a buff appears to be almost (not quite) unanimous among the ancient members here, but that is overall a pretty small and elite pool of players...

    XP nerf: http://www.adom.de/forums/project.php?issueid=2602

I would be quite interested in what this "not scumm[ing] at all" and hitting level 50 well before D:50 feat entails. So far I have been fairly unimpressed by the 'not-scummers'.
